Hyde Park Day School is offering an Assistive Technology Class for bright students in Grades 5-8 who have learning disabilities. The class will introduce skills in assistive technology that bolster reading, writing, and spelling. The program aims to:
● Support academics through the introduction of text-to-speech tools, digital dictionaries, voice to text tools, ways to access grade-level text, editing tools and more.
● Reinforce the independent use of assistive tools.
● Support parent understanding of assistive technology through a parent-teacher meeting.
Chromebooks will be provided for the students’ use.
Program Details:
Open to Grades 5-8 on the Chicago and Northfield campuses. Class meets twice per week, from 12:45 p.m.-1:45 p.m. One progress check-in meeting will be scheduled with parents toward the conclusion of the program.
