Get Help with Dyslexia
Dyslexia is a learning disability marked by impairment of the ability to recognize and match sounds with written letters and words. A neurological disorder, dyslexia is characterized by an unexpected difficulty in reading in children and adults who otherwise possess the intelligence, motivation, and education considered necessary for developing accurate and fluent reading.
Our office offers referral lists for diagnosticians, testing, and tutors. We also offer additional information on IEPs, multi-sensory programs, 504 plans and much more. In addition, we host a Parent Conference every spring. At our most recent Parent Conference, parents heard from experts who presented tips on special education law, executive functioning in children and adolescents, and red flags for dyslexia. The following testimonial comes from a parent who attended:
“I just wanted to take the opportunity to thank you very much from the bottom of my heart for putting together this conference. It has given me a sense of hope for my son, additionally it has also helped to connect with other parents that are experiencing the ups and downs of having a child with dyslexia and ADHD. Every year, I walk away with a wealth of information and feel renewed to continue on my journey.”
