Multisensory Math Workshop

  • Hyde Park Day School Chicago Campus 6254 S. Ellis Ave. Chicago United States (map)

Hyde Park Day School is offering a Multisensory Math Workshop. This workshop/course is a shortened version of the 30 hour graduate level course which has been offered online and at universities. It includes the research, rationale and principle strategies used in a multisensory math approach to teaching all students, not just students with special needs. It is designed for use in inclusion classrooms, small group instruction and one-on-one tutoring or home schooling circumstances. The approach is based on the neuroscience of math learning, the best recommendations from major research institutions and the principles of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics.

The workshop is presented by Marilyn Zecher M.A., CALT, a nationally certified Academic Language Therapist and former classroom/demonstration teacher. Ms. Zecher is a specialist in applying multisensory strategies to a variety of content areas. She will be presenting virtually with onsite facilitation from Multisensory Math Practitioners Sarah Imboden and Marisa Churchill.
