The University of St. Francis College of Education is presenting READ Conference (Reading Engagement and Development) at its main campus in Joliet, IL. At the conference, Everyone Reading Illinois Board Members will present Experience Dyslexia® Simulation, a hands-on workshop that lets participants experience some of the challenges and frustrations that people with dyslexia encounter daily. This simulation provides a lively, thought-provoking activity for teachers, parents, or anyone interested in better understanding the lives of individuals with dyslexia. ERI board members will also provide a general overview of dyslexia and information on such topics as the definition of dyslexia, underlying deficit areas, early screening, assessment, effective interventions, appropriate accommodations, and helpful resources.
